Nabaki Safaris & Tours was founded by Kenedy Juma Sabuni from a lifelong dream that began in 1995. The word “Nabaki” is a Swahili word meaning “to return,” and it carries a deep personal meaning rooted in his life journey.
In 1995, while Kenedy was in primary school in Lushoto, Tanga Region, he was washing clothes with his mother, Rehema, at the Mkuzu River. During that moment, they saw a group of tourists walking toward the Mkuzu Waterfalls accompanied by a local guide who was confidently speaking English. Kenedy became deeply inspired by the guide — the way he communicated with visitors and led them through nature sparked a dream in him to one day become like him.
In 2012, Kenedy became a professional guide for Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Oldonyo Lengai, and wildlife safaris across Tanzania. This achievement marked the fulfillment of the dream that had first inspired him as a young boy in 1995.
With years of experience gained in mountain guiding and safari tourism, Kenedy Juma Sabuni established Nabaki Safaris & Tours in 2017. The company was built on passion, professionalism, and a commitment to sharing the beauty of Tanzania with travelers from all over the world.
The name “Nabaki” reflects the journey of returning to a childhood dream and transforming it into reality through tourism, exceptional guest experiences, and a deep love for Tanzania.
